Cabinet Secretaries have arrived at Harambee House for their inaugural meeting of the Committee chaired by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i amid reports that an angry DP Ruto was holding a saving face parallel meeting with a few governors at his office.

Ruto is angry with the move that pushed away from where the national cake is shared.

The CSs started arriving for the meeting scheduled to kick off at 8am at around 7.30am.

An Executive Order by President Uhuru Kenyatta last month created the National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee.

It brings on board all CSs, Attorney General Kihara Kariuki and Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua.

Though the agenda of the meeting is not public, insiders in government indicate that the CSs are expected to come up with a work plan to achieve the objectives of the Executive Order.

Just last week, the President told CSs not comfortable with his order elevating Matiang’i to quit his government just days after the Star reported the storm created by the move.

The Matiangi-led National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee will report directly to the President.

It would provide overall supervisory leadership throughout the delivery circle of all national government’s programmes and projects.

The President’s move is seen as a deliberate strategy to take charge of his legacy projects, especially the Big Four Agenda.

The Executive Order was seen as Uhuru’s way of taming his deputy William Ruto who has come out to support it saying it gives clarity to the government’s agenda.

Over the weekend, the Deputy President said the Executive Order no. 1, of 2019 was meant to ensure proper flow of information on the implementation of Government projects from the grassroots to the national level.

Quasi literate Sports CS Rashid Achesa Mohammed makes his way to the cabinet meeting.
He said development committees would be formed from the grassroots to review the ongoing projects and those, which have stalled, and the reasons why, for the necessary action to be taken.

“We want to have a proper flow of information as far as the implementation of development projects from the grassroots to the national level is concerned. This is why I ask all leaders at the county level to work with such committees in ensuring the implementation of such projects,” Ruto said.

Barely a week after his appointment, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i is already at work! Do you think he will deliver? Well, the CS has promised an overhaul of the National Transport and Safety Authority structure to root out rogue workers.

He said they have identified many gaps that allow dubious activities in the organisation.

“We are going to clean up the NTSA and completely restructure it to ensure they carry out their functions as required,” Matiang’I said. New NTSA board members took charge.

Matiang’i said the authority had broken many laws and breached regulations because of loopholes in the structure.

The authority was recently moved to the Interior ministry. It was previously under the Transport ministry. On January 21, President Uhuru Kenyatta gave the Interior CS more powers, including the transfer. He said the move will promote services through proper coordination. Matiang’i chairs the National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee that brings together CSs and the AG.

The problems at the agency came to light after a car used in Dusit D2 terrorist attack was discovered to be sharing a registration number with another vehicle. Other motorists have raised similar concerns.

“Illegal activities at the NTSA have badly exposed our country to many dangers. I will not apologise to Kenyans again for services not discharged or those unlawfully delivered. We shall take action,” the CS said.

Matiang’i said the ministry and other relevant authorities will meet this week with NTSA leadership to come up with the way forward.

The new board members are Jane Obwocha, Catherine Waweru, Alice Chesire, Francis Mwongo, Moses Gachemi and Meshak Kidenda.

Last Friday, six more NTSA officials were arraigned over accusations of abetting Dusit Hotel attack. They were accused of being involved in a racket selling fake motor vehicle number plates.

Anthony Kadu, Jacqueline Githinji, Cosmas Ngeso, Irving Irungu, Stephen Kariuki and Charles Ndung’u were presented before senior resident magistrate Caroline Nzibe.
NTSA has been linked with the deputy president in the Past.

Nurses working in Nairobi City County government hospitals have reached a deal on a return to work formula after talks with Governor Mike Sonko.

The nurses who had downed their tools over delayed allowances and stalled promotions have agreed to resume duty after Governor Sonko committed to ensure their grievances are addressed.

“All your allowances will be paid in the next 48 hours after we get approval from the Controller of Budget. We shall also implement the promotion of nurses as promised. We cannot fight over these issues as our patients suffer in the hospitals,” said Sonko.

Speaking at Charter Hall during the meeting with over 200 nurses led by their union officials, Sonko directed acting Health CEC Charles Kerich to form a 20-man committee comprising of county officials and nurses’ union officials to ensure all the grievances raised by the health workers are dealt with.

Sonko also promised the nurses that his administration will soon hire the unemployed nurses working in county facilities. The Governor has however attributed the delayed recruitment of nurses to technical issues facing the Nairobi County Public Service Board.

The County Government will also harmonize the salaries of the nurses among other issues raised by the nurses.

“We told the police to keep an open mind.

DRC President Felix Tshisekedi has arrived in Kenya for bilateral talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta 14 days after he was sworn in as President.

This was DRC’s first transfer of power via an election in 59 years of independence thereby succeeding Joseph Kabila.

However, in a sign of lingering doubts about the vote’s credibility, Kenya’s Uhuru Kenyatta was the only foreign head of state present.

There were revelations that Raila Odinga may have flexed his powers to give his long time friend Tshisekedi a good start and influenced his coronation and acceptance by the world powers. Raila, Kenya’s former minister is a global towering figure with strong connections in Washington, London and in Beijing.

Still, the imagery of one leader handing off the presidency to another as Kabila wrapped the presidential sash around his successor was striking in a country where previous power transfers have resulted only from coups, assassination or rebellion.
The DRC leader met the AU Special envoy Raila Odinga too.
President Kenyatta was accompanied by Raila Odinga (AU special envoy), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper Party leader), Moses Cheboi (National Assembly Deputy Speaker) and Irungu Kangata (Murang’a Senator) during Tshisekedi’s swearing-in.

Jacob Juma’s ghost chases Ndegwa Muhoro from Malaysia, Rejected as ambassidor

The cold murder of anti-corruption Tzar Jacob Juma among other extra judicial killings during Uhuru’s first term is the main reason why former DCI boss Ndegwa Muhoro was rejected by Malaysia as Kenya’s ambassador.

Muhoro was vetted and approved by Parliament despite passionate opposition from city lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi who accused the former sleuth of corruption and running a killer gang within the DCI police force.

Lawyer Abdullahi also claimed Muhoro had planned to kill him and threatened to petition Malaysia to reject the proposed ambassador.

“Today i forwarded to parliament a compelling dossier on why former CID Director Muhoro is unfit to be our Ambassador of Malaysia. I will forward the same to both the office of PM & foreign minister of Malaysia by Friday. If parliament fails to consider it, I will file a suit,” the senior counsel said last year.

Some of the Ambassadors appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta have not taken their foreign envoy roles – more than eight months after the were approved by Parliament.

Sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs according to reports revealed some envoys had failed to take up new jobs after being rejected by the host nations.

Ndegwa Muhoro tops the list of those who have been rejected by the supposed host countries.

Reception can sometimes turn out to be a hard tackle when one finds opposition against easy assimilation in a new environment.Nobody wishes to be rejected anywhere thus often unfortunate when this happens.

The slain Jacob Juma was Ahmednassir’s client and was also a nemesis of DP Ruto, it is Jacob Juma who started the war against DP Ruto and linked him to several corruption scandals.

Alot has since changed as Ahmednassir being a super ‘broker’ is now thelead counsel of DP Ruto and recently successfully litigated the Weston Hotel land issue and was allowed to keep the grabbed land and pay peanuts of 320million to NLC in total disregard of the Kenya Civil Aviation guidelines and petition to take possession of the land.

Anxiety as Homabay residents await for the supreme court ruling of Gov. Awiti case today

The fate of Homa-bay gubernatorial seat is set for today as tens, uncertainty and agony rock the supporters of Governor Cyprian Awiti and his close competitor former kasipul mp Oyugi magawanga.

Awiti appealed at the Apex court the lower courts rulings which nullified his August 2017 re election citing illegalities and irregularities.

Bunge la wananchi in Homabay has been on the drive to get rid of the county government of Homabay by seeking for a dissolution from president Kenyatta.
According to Homa-bay county Bunge la wananchi Speaker Walter Opiyo, over 30,000 signatures have been collected for a petition to have the county dissolved and the President Uhuru Kenyatta to appoint an independent agency to run the county in an interim basis.

They are accusing the Awiti’s administration of failed leadership, embezzlement of Public funds, corruption that is hurting many sectors of the economy.

Provincial Administration, church leaders and youth leadership are running a peace campaigns throughout the County to prepare the residents for the expected ruling.

In February last year, the Homabay High court nullified the election of Awiti saying the elections were not free and fair.

Following this, Awiti filed an appeal to contest the high court decision at the appellant court in Kisumu.

Through his lawyers Tom Ojienda, Otiende Amollo and James Orengo, the governor had dismissed the judgment, saying the trial court disregarded his evidence including that of the court’s deputy registrar.

He claimed that the High Court judgment demonstrated bias and made contradictory statements in his decision which had fundamental errors.

Ojienda noted that the judge relied on a report by Magwanga’s advocate that results were altered to dismiss the case and ignored a scrutiny report done by the deputy registrar at the High Court in Homa Bay.

While giving their judgments, the appellants Judges, Justices Phillip Waki, Sichale and Otieno Odek, ruled that there was overwhelming evidence to show that the elections were not free and fair.

Awiti later moved to the Supreme Court where he faulted the appellate court for declining to consider the outcome of a scrutiny report and recount of votes that affirmed his election.

Through his lawyers Ojienda and Otiende Omollo, Awiti told the Supreme Court that the scrutiny exercise reinforced his win but Court of appeal Judge Justice Joseph Karanja deliberately refused to consider crucial evidence that proves allegations raised by his opponent were false.

Tell Kenyans how Jubilee rigged the 2017 elections, Miguna tells Murathe

Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has told off former Jubilee Party interim Vice Chairman David Murathe to disclose the happenings surrounding 2017 general election.

“Well, well, well, that’s true. Now, go on and openly admit that your master, Uhuru Kenyatta, was the chief architect of electoral fraud in Kenya in 2013 and 2017 – deputized by Ruto,” the vocal lawyer posted on social media on Wednesday.

This is after Murathe, on a live TV on Tuesday night, confessed that nominations in the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led Jubilee Party were marred by fraud.

Speaking during an exclusive interview on Citizen TV, the outspoken politician claimed some unpopular candidates were given party tickets at the expense of strong candidates, particularly in Mount Kenya and Rift Valley regions.

The former Gatanga MP alleged Deputy President William Ruto was behind the rigging but said he (Murathe) could have done nothing since his focus was on winning the presidential election.

With that revelation, Miguna has asked Murathe to come out and publicly admit that even the last two general elections were manipulated by Jubilee Party leaders President Kenyatta and his principal assistant, William Ruto.

Miguna further asked his followers to join hands and liberate the country by embracing strong virtues.

“Let’s remove all the scumbags from Kenya. Let’s liberate Kenya and establish a merit-based society where integrity, ability, creativity, innovation and productivity counts above ethnicity, nepotism and plundered wealth,” he urged.

His claims have been lodged with the United Nations commission of inquiry where he stated that a high-level Kenyan police officer spoke to him about his capture.

The officer allegedly stated that a deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his SS counterpart had facilitated his detention at a Nairobi airport.

“There’s no way they’re going to help you,” Gatdet quoted the said officer, “I was terrified…I knew that I was heading for a terrible situation,” he added while speaking to AP.

Kenyan Government Spokesperson Eric Kiraithe expressed a commitment to see peace in South Sudan accelerated.

He was deported to South Sudan where he spent two years in prison and up to 10 months in solitary confinement.

Viagra is among the most ordered drugs on Kenya’s online pharmacy platforms due to the platform’s provision of anonymity.

Viagra is the brand name for sildenafil citrate and is used to treat erectile dysfunction.

The system commonly known as e-Pharmacy helps in the distribution of drugs to those who have no access to them, but need them.

They place an order online and the drugs are delivered to their doorstep through channels such as G4S and other offline partners.

Doctors warn viagra could have irreversible damage to someone’s eyes.

However, due to strict guidelines stipulated by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board over the selling of medicines and drugs regimes over the counter, not all drugs and medicines can be purchased from the portal.

According to Pfizer director of regional projects Patrick Holt, the business has thrived because of Kenya’s mobile connectivity and internet speeds.

“Kenya leads in phone internet traffic globally, faster internet in Africa and the Middle East, excellent WiFi hotspots and fast home delivery services. Presence of too many unregulated online pharmacies means everyone should be able to tell what is fake from what is genuine,” Holt said.

Kenyans have however been warned to be wary of such sites.

“This is a transnational organised crime. You will think they are taking care of you and yet you are susceptible to hacking because all your data is stored in their order profiles, hence may sell your data,” he said.

A former aspirant for Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat has put up one of his testicles for sale for Sh500,000.

Kowiti, who tried his hands in politics in the last General Election as an independent candidate, is also willing to part with one of his kidneys for Sh1.5 million for ‘a local client,’ and three times that amount for ‘client’ based outside the country.

“What is the need of having two of them (testicles) dangling between my legs if I can still do the job perfectly with just one? Imagine that there is someone out there who can’t have a child for one reason or another. I just want to share what I have, for a little profit of course!
